A little wrapping for the listen page. Optional, always changeable, and free.
An Occasion Card makes the listen page open like a real stationery card instead of showing the story right away. It is entirely optional. Plain is the default, and you choose it per sticker.
Choosing a design when you start recording
While you set up a new recording, an optional step asks, “Want to dress up the listen page?” Open it and you will see the designs for that occasion.
- Birthdays, new babies, and the holidays each get their own pair of designs (for example, birthday candles or balloons).
- Every other occasion, including bedtime, family stories, and anything custom, wears the house set: a book and moon, or a reading lamp.
- “No card” always sits first and is the default. Choosing it keeps the plain listen page, exactly as it has always worked.
Whatever you pick, you can change it any time from My Recordings.
What the listener sees
If a card is on, the listen page opens as a closed card: the cover art, one line of type (“for Maya,” or “for you” if no name was entered), and an Open button. Tapping Open lifts the cover with a short flourish that matches the occasion, confetti for a birthday, snow for the holidays, drifting stars for a new baby, or a warm amber glow for everything else, and then the story plays exactly as it always has.
If a listener’s phone is set to reduce motion, the card opens instantly with no animation.
Skipping the card
“Skip the card” sits right under the Open button, so nobody is forced through the wrapping to hear the story. Skipping shows the story immediately.
After a listener skips once, a small link appears offering to skip the card every time on that phone. This is remembered only on that one device, so it never changes what other listeners see when they open the same sticker. It can be turned back on the same way, any time.
Turning the card on or off
From My Recordings, open “Customize the listen page” on any recording. You can choose either design, preview exactly what a listener will see, or select “Turn the card off” to return to the plain listen page. None of this changes the recording itself.
